L. E. Dereksen lives in the prairies of Winnipeg, Canada. She has been writing since she was old enough to tap on a keyboard, but after years of honing her craft, she is excited to unveil her debut series, The Avanir Chronicles.

When she’s not writing large books, L. E. Dereksen loves to read them. Some of her favourite authors and inspirations include Fyodor Dostoevsky, J. R. R. Tolkien, Brandon Sanderson, and Ursula K. Le Guin. She has studied history and classics at the University of Winnipeg and enjoys delving into the rhythms of Homer and the political insights of Thucydides. Besides literature, her passions include symphonic music, tabletop games, and her local community. She also teaches English as a Second Language, where she helps adult newcomers explore language and life in Canada.

In everything she does, L. E. Dereksen recognizes the grace of Jesus to live well, love others, and pursue excellence.
