L. E. Dereksen lives in the prairies of Canada. She has been writing since she was old enough to tap on a keyboard, but after years of honing her craft, she is excited to unveil her debut series, The Avanir Chronicles.

When she’s not writing large books, L. E. Dereksen loves to read them. Some of her favourite authors include Fyodor Dostoevsky, J. R. R. Tolkien, and C. S. Lewis. She has studied History and Classical Languages at the University of Winnipeg and enjoys delving into the rhythms of Homer and the political insights of Thucydides. Besides literature, her interests include board games, Latin, gardening, history and theology, and classical music. She has taught English as a Second Language to adult newcomers in Canada but has recently left teaching to become a mom.

In everything she does, L. E. Dereksen recognizes the grace of Jesus to live well, love others, and pursue excellence.
